The challenge

The customer approached us by phone, on the advice of the previous owner of his recently purchased Swan 47. He wanted to give the boat a thorough overhaul and was looking for high-quality sails. We invited him to our sailmaking shop in Lemmer so he could experience our production up close.

The process

The inspection revealed that the set of more than 20 sails provided was largely worn and outdated. Together with the customer we discussed his wishes, the sailing area and the various possibilities. After approval of the quotation, we set to work on the production of a new set of sails in Hydranet Radial. This maximizes the sailing properties of the Swan 47 and also makes them long-lasting and resistant to harsh sea conditions. The sails feature an offshore finish for added durability. In addition, we have two tube caps and a highly functional hood tailored to protect the mainsail.

The result

Our speed and expertise was greatly appreciated. The sails were neatly mounted on board. Then we made a sailing tour together with the customer to trim the sails optimally. During this tour we also had a nice photo session to capture the final result! A nice memento for the customer and for us because we are proud of what we do!
